The first ever Open Mic night was February 29, 2024, followed by April 18 and June 13, all Thursday nights at the Cimarron Night Club. Per Craig Brandhorst, “The Music Club Board, as a whole, has been hugely supportive from the start,” and he thinks they can plan on an Open Mic night at least once per month now.

James Hersch came onto the music scene here at Grand in 2022, formed the Songwriters of Grand during 2023 and put on a well-received Songwriters of Grand show in January 2024. “For over thirty years acclaimed songwriter, singer and guitarist James Hersch has been quietly building a repertoire of work that puts him squarely on the edge of acoustic music’s importance in North American culture.”
