It’s a revival! Early in 2024 Kathy Head stepped up to lead the popular service-oriented group formerly known as The Gospel Singers. The Covid pandemic put an extended halt to The Gospel Singers. Then their leader moved away and the group was dormant until Kathy stepped up. Judging by the enthusiasm of the Grand participants and the warm welcomes of the assisted living audiences, we are all fortunate that she did.

Anything that enhances the reputation of the Grand Music Club is a benefit to all!

Who was inducted into the Music Club Hall of Fame back in March 2013? Hint: the trophy reads “For Excellence in Performance, for Outstanding Work in Internal Publicity and for Production Support.” Hint: She manages the Club’s website to this day after overseeing its conversion to the current ClubExpress platform. She has been Usher Coordinator since 2019, and the only Usher Coordinator many of us have ever known.

One more hint: She sings with the Grand Singers Chorus and performs almost every year in the Classical/Popera Concerts, the November Celebrations of Music, or Music Showcases.

The first ever Open Mic night was February 29, 2024, followed by April 18 and June 13, all Thursday nights at the Cimarron Night Club. Per Craig Brandhorst, “The Music Club Board, as a whole, has been hugely supportive from the start,” and he thinks they can plan on an Open Mic night at least once per month now.
