THE JAN PETRIE BAND A ROCKING GOOD EVENING
There’s another exciting group coming to the Cimarron Nightclub playing Classic Rock, Pop and the Blues. Lead Singer Jan Petrie continues a long tradition of
great “Rocker Chicks” from the Pacific Northwest.
She was a frequent finalist in the “IDOL IN THE SKYE” singing competitions. Her inspirations include the Wilson sisters from the rock band HEART, plus the late great Janis Joplin. Drummer Charles “Spanky” Lake is also a product of the Pacific Northwest. He has played around the Puget Sound area with known artists like PEARL JAM and Roger Fisher of HEART. His jazz work includes stints with Quincy Jones and Mel Torme. Guitarist Rich LaRose is a product of the 70’s garage bands of Upstate New York. He also performed in his college Jazz/Rock Ensemble at S.U.N.Y. OSWEGO. On Sundays, Rich leads the Praise Band at Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Phoenix. Keyboardist Les Paul Roque proudly hails from the great state of New Jersey. His solo jazz release, “Amazing” earned him a Grammy Award Nomination. Les also performs with the local band “Rhythm Edition. THE JAN PETRIE BAND is now available on YouTube.

GRAND CABARET – RETURN OF “THE ALL STARS” 17th Anniversary Celebration Last year at this time, we welcomed this phenomenal group of professional musicians who, over the years, have played with many of the biggest bands. They will now celebrate their seventeenth year entertaining in the Sun Cities area. There aren’t too many of the original band members still performing but replacements over the years have kept the musical standards high. Their spirited renditions of the big band sounds combine with a natural enthusiasm that is infectious. They are called THE ALL STARS because each musician brings his or her own unique talent to the stage – bringing back America’s swing era in a way you just don’t hear much anymore. But their range of music spans the years – right up to contemporary favorites. Their featured female vocalist, Jane Higgs, accompanied on the piano by Marg Burg, adds just the right blend to the performance. Dan Reed, one of the finest jazz trumpet players in the West Valley, is the Musical Director and Ed White, the group’s Manager and founder, performs on the trombone. This is a show for the whole family. Join us in the relaxed, informal cabaret atmosphere at Sonoran Plaza for this big band extravaganza.

BARRY DALE SINGS
"The Great American Songbook"
Accompanied by the Steve Berliner Trio The Cimarron Nightclub welcomes back the big band sound. Barry Dale is a Sinatra-style singer who really knows how to engage the audience. He's a vocalist with the Music Makers of SCW and was a featured singer at the 2000 CanAm Jazz Festival. He's performed on the Canadian Broadcasting Co. series 'Great American Composers' and done multiple tours entertaining American troops in Europe. It's a pleasure to welcome him to our Nightclub. Steve Berliner has performed many times for Grand audiences and been a part of several jazz groups. He is well known throughout the Valley and is a featured vocalist with the 'Rhythm Ramblers' big band. Steve has played in the Ray Anthony Band and accompanied famed vocalists Connie Haines and Martha Tilton. For this show Steve will be joined by Jack Jackino on drums and the Grand's own John Clark on bass. As usual, you won't want to delay in getting your tickets!
