The Music Club's "Salty Dawgs" Raise Money For Charity

Didi Nielsen | Published on 5/27/2021
In a recent article in the Surprise Independent, our own Salty Dawgs were featured for their extensive charity work. During the long ‘shelter in place’ COVID-19 period, the only safe place to perform was outdoors so the “Dawgs” played for more than 30 free driveway concerts. They gave residents an opportunity  to take their golf carts or lawn chairs over to listen to some good old fashioned sing-a-long music, get caught up with friends and neighbors, and support some worthy Surprise charities.

The last concert of the season was on May 1 and featured David Durham, Tom Taggett, Patrick Watts and Don Bollard. It was attended by more than 100 and raised more than $3,000 for the Chance Shelter. This is a no-kill shelter for animals in crisis.  This final Salty Dawgs concert brought their season’s total charitable contributions to more than $12,000.
